Innovation and Technology

PTC has always been focused on improving their processes through technological innovation. Over the last 25 years, the company has developed and acquired several state of the art companies that are continually on the cutting edge of their industries.

Premier Tech acquired the VonGAL Corporation in June 2012. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, VonGAL is one of the top 3 manufacturers of conventional palletizing systems for unit loads, catering mainly to the rigid packaging market in America.

The Graco ProXP Spray Gun

Henry Courson is the purchasing manager of VonGal PTC, and he is always on top of his game and looking to improve processes in production. Henry and Dudley C Jackson have been great business partners for many years. Henry wanted to see a demonstration with an Electrostatic gun. We recommended the new Graco ProXP Spray Gun.

The ProXP Spray Gun is the smallest profile gun with an internal power supply on the market. The internal power supply reduces operator fatigue by eliminating heavy power cords. The ProXP comes in 40kV, 60kV, and 85kV models. This spray gun is manufactured with high wear components that allow for a longer life with abrasive and metallic coatings. The real story is the transfer efficiency, which is typically 30% to 50% more efficient than a conventional spray gun.

The Results

So how did the ProXP perform in the VonGal plant? The Montgomery team was blown away by the results. Paul Crowell, the finishing foreman, said the gun “sprayed damn well”. He said that the paint transfer was much more efficient than conventional spraying. John Thomas (JT), a Finishing Specialist with VonGal, said the gun “saves time, uses less paint and has great coverage”.

Here are some examples of how these guys have used the ProXP Spray Gun.
